When you open a case page on CanLII, Pinpoint reads the text of that case and makes it available inside the extension side panel. You can ask questions in plain language and receive answers with clickable citations that link back to the relevant paragraphs or passages on the page.
What platforms does Pinpoint support?
Pinpoint supports CanLII for Canadian case law and Google Scholar case pages for U.S. case research. There are separate Chrome extension listings for each platform, and the site will direct you to the appropriate one based on your region.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your questions are processed in real time and are not permanently stored. Pinpoint does not access pages outside supported legal databases, does not collect your browsing history, and does not sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How accurate are the AI responses?
Pinpoint is designed to answer from the case text itself and provide clickable citations so you can verify the source quickly. That said, it remains an AI research tool and may occasionally make mistakes. You should review the cited source material before relying on any answer in your work.
