How does it work?

When you open a case page on CanLII, Pinpoint reads the case text and makes it available to an AI model. You can then ask questions in plain language through the side panel, and the AI will generate answers with clickable citations that link back to specific paragraphs in the judgment.

What platforms does Pinpoint support?

Pinpoint works on CanLII (Canadian legal cases) and Google Scholar (US legal cases). There are separate Chrome extensions for each platform—install the one that matches your jurisdiction.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your questions are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored. We do not access pages outside of supported legal databases, do not collect your browsing history, and do not sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How accurate are the AI responses?

Pinpoint generates answers directly from the case text and provides clickable paragraph citations so you can verify every claim. While AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, the citation system makes it easy to check accuracy. Pinpoint is a research tool—it does not provide legal advice.
